Why is my page called "Indigenous Girl TV"?

​

I was born and raised in Baguio and Benguet, Philippines and moved to New York City more than 10 years ago (I am an official New Yorker!). I am an Arts/Media/Marketing and Non-profit Administrator as well as a producer and a performer. The word "Igorot" (also referred to as Cordilleran) is a collective word that refers to the tribes and indigenous/aboriginal people from the Northern highlands and mountains of the Philippines.

The Igorot and Cordilleran people are divided into subtribes. Studies and DNA research traced where our ancestors are originally from Southern China, West China & present-day Taiwan.  

 

My purpose is to represent my community and to be a visible face of the indigenous communities around the world. Not all contents are about the indigenous world! Like other people, I love other things too. It is a mixed bag of - comedy, music, NYC lifestyle, travel, socio-political opinions, culture, self-growth, and informative or silly contents!
