Joyce Lao is a New York based performer. She was born and raised in Baguio City, Philippines. Her parents are descendants of Aboriginal and First Nation Tribes who migrated to the Philippines thousands of years ago. She has a degree in Psychology (pre-med), Special Education, Ma in Music and attended Stella Adler School of Acting. She is presently attending The Juilliard School in New York, taking Music, Drama and Dance courses. She has produced, acted and written a few short films that have been screened in the film festival circuit. She is also the co-creator/producer of a new webseries endorsed by Youtube entitled, “These Three Girls”. Her Directorial debut, “Hecuba” won Runner – up as Best Ensemble and she also won Runner-up for Best Director at the Ancient Drama Festival. Her last original work at the NYC Fringe Festival was well received and is in the process of development to be shown on tour. As an artist and performer, she also has the passion to help and promote other talents - most especially multi-talented people of color especially talents of Asian, Arab and Aboriginal/First Nation descent. This passion turned into a vision. She has been establishing herself as a creative professional and founded The Ally Artists Group.
Singer-Songwriter: After being evaluated under BMG and Warner records for almost 2 years with a former Columbia records producer, she decided to be an Indie artist and have more artistic and creative freedom with her music. She is still writing songs and she is set to shoot her music videos soon.
